Failure. Here's why

1. No Franchise mode, I mean come on! Franchise is everything, and is what killed this game. No franchise = No real fun. I probably would have gotten it if this hadn't been the case.

2. The overall gameply. According to everyone it's to easy, the annoucers are horrible, the players look stiff. And is it just me, or is the stadium really dark? So much more could have been done. Better gameplay, graphics, and overall depth is how this game failed.

What I did like about this game was the passing and shooting style. The passes were cool and easy, and the shots looked awsome. Unfortunantly, everything is dark, the rims dont look like rims, and the gameplay is easy to beat. Trust me, I've played this game.

Overall, this game just didn't live up to what it could have been. But Microsoft already fixed the problem with the 2003 edition. The game has a ton of dunks, fluid player animations, and a whopping 25 season franchise mode. Sure, it's 60% more to pay, but it's either that, or this. Go for the new and improved 2003 edition. Either that, or go for NBA Live 2002 or NBA 2K2. Thx!

A little disapointing., August 17, 2002

I was really looking forward to NBA Inside Drive. I had been playing NFL Fever for months and thought this would be the B-ball equivilant. It's NOT! The graphics are decent (NFL Fever is better), the play-by-play announcers are entertaining, and there are some cool dunk sequences, but it left me wanting more. I think the main reason I tired of this game much more quickly that NFL Fever is the lack of a Dynasty mode. There is no salary cap, no create-a-player, and no dynamic player performance. Sooo, the team you create, is pretty much the team your stuck with, game after game, season after season etc. etc. I bought this game and really don't feel it was worth the $$$.

There is a dispute with Inside Drive and NBA 2K2. Well I have played both games. Both of these games are 5 star. I think they are both evenly matched.

WORST GAME EVER. I MEAN IT, May 24, 2002

I cannot believe that time was actually put into making this game. It's not even basketball. Everyone says it has good graphics, but it doesn't... they're horrible. Everyone shoots with their hand curled around the ball in the stupidest way possible, the rims look totally fake, and the dunks might as well not be in the game... they're that bad. All in all, this game just doesn't look, feel, or play like basketball. Try NBA Live 2002 where the dunks are amazing and each player looks so much like his NBA counterpart. Inside Drive, my friends, can't be called basketball, it's not even worthy of being called a game. I can't believe i bought this one. OUCH. [NICE] GAME. Oh, and don't by NFL Fever 2002 either, because it is totally unrealistic and stupid looking like this game. Stick with EA Sports, or be disappointed.

i have had this game for quite some time now, and it kicks compared to ALL other basketball games i have played in the past in terms of graphics, play, sound, AI, etc.. Some people are complaining about "create a player", and i have always wondered why is that included in a game. i mean come on, who is not gonna buy a game because of create a player. that is rediculous. people buy the game to play, not mess around and create stuff. that is why i give this game 5 stars.

A good NBA game, but not what youd expect, April 27, 2002

I have a dreamcast and have the NBA 2K2 game. When i first played this XBOX game i compared it to the dreamcast one. In the 2K2 game the players faces are much better, they even look like themselves in real life. In Inside Drive its not that they dont look a like the players but not as well as you hoped for in an XBOX game. Also there isent as many features as the Sega game.(no creat a player, etc..) But there are others things like awards during seasons. In everything else its better. There are far more moves and passes, more realistic. The comentators are smart(like if one interupts hell say sorry), but annoying. There is also more pop ups from stats that show from season highs to cold streaks.

Very GOOD...., April 23, 2002

This is a very good game, I love it. The only thing I don't like is that you can't create a player, but thats the only REAL big miss I can think of. If you like basketball games you SHOULD love this. The graphics are very good and the camera angles are not too bad either. One good thing is the replays you can go back and watch a replay in any angle and how close/far away you want the camerea. THIS GAME IS A "MUST BUY" unless you don't like sports games all that much then you should at least rent it.

not the best, April 20, 2002

this game is pretty bad , the controls are sluggish and the shots are bogus. the 2 stars go to the graphics which are pretty good. my advice wait for 2003
