Amazon.com Product Description: Newly optimized for Xbox, SpyHunter is a mission-based combat racing game based on the arcade classic. It puts you behind the wheel of the G-6155 Interceptor, the ultimate counterintelligence prototype vehicle that's turbocharged and ready to go with 845 horsepower for lightning-fast speed. That's not all--there's an arsenal of futuristic weaponry and morphing abilities to turn the car into a speedboat, Jet Ski, or motorcycle. Basically, it's everything you need to undertake 14 high-adrenaline missions on wheels.

Should you choose to accept these daring reconnaissance missions, you'll travel to Panama, England, the Middle East, Venice, and other exotic locations around the world. Each location is rendered with a high degree of realism and provides recognizable landmarks and scenery. Throughout, you're the hunter as well as the hunted, pursued by enemies over land, on water, and in the air. Your mission is to take on NOSTRA, an out-of-control multinational corporation headed by an evil madman who's threatening the world.

As SpyHunter, you must always be ready for heavily armed enemy vehicles that lurk around every corner and strike at the first site of the Interceptor. But you have a steady supply of weapons trucks that load you up with machine guns, missiles, lasers, and counterattack weapons such as oil slicks, smoke screens, and cluster mines. Each successful attack gets you one step closer to revealing who SpyHunter is and what he's ultimately after.

Customer Reviews:
This game had potential, but could have been better., August 22, 2002

Spyhunter is a pretty interesting game. The first level is a track that you go on to learn how to do different things, like shoot targets, dodge civilians, put GPS trackers on boats and much more. The game is pretty fun, and the graphics aren't bad. I like the fact that in this game you can drive on land or in the water and bust through walls and other fun things. The game takes you to many interesting levels such as Venice, which I thought was very well done with gondolas driving around the canals and little cafes in the streets. There are not many missions in the game so I can see how many people say it gets old, and the graphics aren't that amazing, so its not the greatest game. Hopefully if they make another one, it will be better. I reccomend to anyone that thinks this game is cool, to rent it and play it for awhile to see how you like it, and then decide whether or not to buy it.

This is a pointless game with very little story. Not very hard but with very VERY limited controls it make shooting the path in front of you even impossible. Not my idea of a good game, try somethin' else.

...THIS GAME IS SO TERRIBLE IT REALLY SHOULD ONLY GET 1 STAR!!!!!!! The levels are impossible to a point where it isnt fun anymore, and all you do is drive in a straight line and shoot stuff. you dont have the feeling of a plot...

Classic was better, April 6, 2002

This game gets old quick. Despite the list of weapons listed on the box, you really only use 1 (the heatseeking missles). This game as a whole lacks any options for jazzing up gameplay, and it's pretty easy to beat! The only good thing was you can unlock the '83 classic game and play it! You might consider renting this game, but there's no need to spend money on it!

I got this for the original, March 31, 2002

To access the original Spy Hunter, type "OGSPY" for your player name in the player entry screen. The original is the biggest reason that I got this, and it is still a lot of fun, once I got used to the controls.

The original game always freezes up on my X-Box after playing it for 15-30 minutes, and it does not save high scores.

The new game is a very mediocre mix between a driving game and a shooter. You have to re-try the levels over and over until you get them perfect, including each of the sub-missions, which can get to be repetitive and monotonous. I wish they would re-make Autoduel.

This game rocks!, March 20, 2002

This game totally rocks. The graphics are a little worse that the other xbox titles out there, but it is way more fun. You also get the original game which is classic old school.

This is for sure the best driving game on xbox even though it is a little short.

Not as fun as arcade original, March 16, 2002

This game is short and has glitchy graphics that slow down and freeze up all the time. The game itself is pretty good but is way to short. I beat it in 1 afternoon. The xbox version comes with the original also. I played that longer than the actual game. This game is good for renting if you want a night of gaming but way to short to buy.

It has it's ups and downs, March 5, 2002

Although this game has not came out for XBOX I have played it on Playstation 2. I can and will tell you some things about this game. The graphics are good but not great, the missions are fun unlike wreckless, you get to use a varity of weapons as you progress through the game, but what bothers me is that you can redo a mission over and over again completing sub missions untill you beat it. You should have to do it all in one to make it more challenging. When you shoot foot troops they break like playdo which gets very annoying after a while. Not to mention that you can transform to different vehicles such as a boat a motorcycle and more. I reccomend this game to everyone.

Short but SWEET, February 10, 2002

Well this game has made a earlyer approch on the PS2 this year, now they are putting it out for XBOX and GameCube. There isn't going to be much changes from the orignall PS2 version.

Well this game provides lots of action with its very high number of manuvers and weapons u can do. The graphics are pretty good. But, the game has one big flaw and that is its TO SHORT and can be extremely easy at certain times. I reccamend when it comes out on XBOX to go out and rent it. You'll love the action and be crying for more when your done.
