A Great Game, November 13, 2002

This is the first shooter game I played where you can move in squads and at the same time switch from third person to first person. The graphics are great and the controls are even better. You can switch the people while in your squad. Each person has different capabbilities. Each soldier also improves in ranks and can get medals plus even improve in skills such as rifleman, sniper, medic, and combat engineer. I highly reccomend this game

really bad, November 12, 2002

Your first clue as to how bad this game will prove is when you begin a 2 player multiplayer game and one of the players sits able to do nothing in a prison cell until you spend 15 minutes finding the prison. The graphics are horrid and the game play is lame with mindless searching in circa-1990 graphics representing a sand storm.

Worth a second look., November 5, 2002

Alright, I have to admit that the first time I played this it took me about a half an hour before I got bored and put the controller down. After a couple of days passed I decided to try it again. Having more time to get in to the game, I was able to master the controls and start thinking like a soldier. The graphics could be a whole lot better given the capabilities of the Xbox but the game play is rather addictive once you get in to it. I really like the promotions and the awrds that are given out after each mission. In the future I would love to see a sequel to this game that takes advantage of the full graphics capabilities of the Xbox. All in all, a fun game.

I'll admit i was excited about this game when i first played it....overall its a good but not great game....the graphics could be better and more realistic great war game but has its ups and downs training mode could be better especially if u look at your commander and he is talkin and his mouth isnt moving faces are kinda sluggish pretty good selection of weapons...needs more game modes and also it is kinda short ending is dull and the selection of guys to pick are the same i dont see the difference in them same people but i guess a diff flag...easy to get a hang of if u go through training mode better if u had someone else to play with

The best Conflict of the Century!, November 2, 2002

First of all, in not 12, I'm actually 13, I just forgot my Amazon Password so I'm using thing under 13 review thingy.
Conflict: Desert Storm has the most adventure that anyone will see in a shooter game so far.

Pros:
*Rated "Teen" so your parents might get it for you.
*A variety of weapons, including rocket launchers and snipers.
*Realistic Gameplay.
*You can play 4-player missions, which in my opinion, is the best part of the game.
*A real challenge for anyone who likes challenges.
*You can duck, crawl, zoom, climb, and dodge.
*There is C4 so you can blow stuff up!

Cons:
*Only 15 levels?
*This game is a real challenge for anyone who doesn't like challenges.
*Not a very interesting main story.
*If you run out of ammo then you are [out of luck].

Overall, this is one of the best games out for XBOX.
Don't rent it.............Buy it!

get ready to blast terrorist!!!, October 25, 2002

This is a great military game. It works like rainbow six or hidden and dangerous (a squad based WW2 game for the dreamcast) where as you control four soilders, each with their own specailty. You have a regular solider, a heavy gunner, a demolition expert, and a sniper. You can swap weapons any way you like and use some weapons you capture. You can cycle through any of your men effortlessly, have one or all follow you, or send one ahead. One feature I really like is the health packs. Each man has the typical "life bar".When your life bar runs out, your NOT dead, just critically wounded. You can no longer move or fight, you just lay on the ground rolling around. If you can get another man with a health pack to him, he'll be as good as new. If you dont get to him in five minutes, then he dies. This makes the game way more enjoyable. The game stores your stats, you earn higher rank, medals and skill. This is not a stealth game. You will shoot hundreds of rounds and score kills over 100 men (not in all levels, but most) There are 15 levels. 2 of the levels have your team fighting in armored vechicels. Fighting takes place in the desert, the streets of Kuwait, the streets of Bagdad, and a huge Iraqi held castle. This game also has co-operative multi-player. You and up to three of your friends can participate in all of the single player missions. The game is a third-person shooter, but with a click of the button you can play in first person mode. This works extremely well. If your a fan of miltary or shooters, this is a game I highly recommend.

Great Game, October 20, 2002

This is a great action/combat game for the XBOX. You control up to 4 different characters to accomplish military objectives in game set during the Gulf War.

The missions are entertaining and challenging. The graphics are realistic, character control is easy, and map layout is great.

One downside, once you have completed the game, it will seem too short. I would have loved more missions. The multiplayer action adds gameplay, but I need more missions in singleplayer mode.

Overall a 8.5 out of 10. A very under-rated game that deserves a sequel.

Very entertaining, October 15, 2002

This game is great! The reason being that it is completely up to you to develop a strategy for a certain situation. Whether the situation is ambushing a base or destroying scuds, it all depends on how you set each member of your team to do a specific task. It has major replay value just on the strategy aspect alone. I hope the producer: Jack of All Games, develops more games with this type of genre.

Saddam was too nice, October 14, 2002
Reviewer: A gamer from Berkeley, CA
In this game, Saddam never used biological or chemical warfare on his own people. He never shot wild SCUD missiles at neighboring countries. He never kidnapped families of dignitaries to try and end embargoes. He was never seen contributing money and equipment to al-Queda. The enslavement of women was not portrayed in the game.

The portrayal of Saddam was just too kind to be realistic...

2nd to SOCOM, October 6, 2002
Reviewer: Jonathan Simmons from Colorado Springs, Colorado United States
Not a bad game at all, but with SOCOM already out, this game has no chance. SOCOM implements the headset well, making it effortless to command teammates, while you have to do it manually here. The graphics are done well in both, but the sound is slightly better in SOCOM. This is not a bad game, but SOCOM is a better buy without a doubt.
