Did they say better better than DOA3?, October 23, 2002
Reviewer: Bryan from Omaha, NE USA
There are so many things about this game that make it stupid. Luckily, I only rented it (and returned it the same night *lol*). I feel sorry for anyone who had to buy it. This has got to be the most disapointing game ever for the mighty XBOX. Here's why:

1. The gameplay: it's just uninteresting! You walk around as Bruce Lee from a side view, A SIDE VIEW. You kill people with 2 lame moves (punch and kick) and collect the coins that come after they die. It's so lame and dull, it's LAUGHABLE! It's way to easy, and beating up the people is so dull. 2 lame moves, and all the bad guys look the same. You advance and keep collecting coins. An ametuer gamer could beat this in 1 night!...

2. The graphics = horrible! Oh my goodness, Bruce Lee looks like a girl in tights (which is such an insult to his memory) and all the villains look exactly the same (red ninjas). Oh, and the coins that you get our the size of Bruce's head. The 2 lame moves don't even look real either. I played this game ad beat 3 levels in 10 minutes. I basily fell asleep in my chair. When I woke up, I returned it immediatly!

3. The reputation it tried to take. I mean, come on: Bruce Lee. What kind of people created this game; to insult his memory; this game is HORRIBLE! On the cover, it even went as far as to say it was BETTER than DOA3! I own DOA3, and it is a hundred million times better than this junk.

I hope I've proved to you why u shouldn't buy this game. It is so... easy to beat and so boring at that. I'd rather watch grass grow. There are so many better games to buy for it's price:... If it was about 5 bucks, I might counsider buying it. But for everything else I can get for that price, I guess I'll have to pass...*lol*

This is just another bad attempt to try to capture the coolness of Bruce and bring out only the bad. If they couldnt get his face right they shouldve tried to capture the mood, wich is what new games often neglect for the sake of realism. It should have been a role playing game. There have been so many attempts to capture the mood of a good old Bruce movie that it wont probably ever be given the chance to do it the right way again.. I think they could've simulated the shadeing and lighting of the cameras in those times to make it more nastalgic. It just seemed like a typical shallow representation of Bruce Lee. I cant wait to see the day when video games cancapture worthwile personalities with out messing them up. It is still a fighting game though and still adictive so it isnt a waist and is cool at times. They did though do a good job at capturing the stupid personality of the cheesey bad guys along with thier bad acting you would see in a 70's movie.

The first thing I thought of after 10 minutes of playing this game was playing "Urban Champion" on my old Nintendo system. For those of you who had the pleasure of NEVER playing "Urban Champion", it consisted of you standing on the left-hand side of the screen and punching a guy who stood on the right-hand side of the screen. Granted with this game you get some decent graphics and you can walk around and beat-up people, but beyond that this game hasn't really progressed beyond the 1980s "beat-em-up" games. It's a 2002 Bruce Lee version of "Urban Champion". Basically, you walk around and fight people using Bruce Lee's own fighting style. They went to great lengths to make the fighting styles authentic using motion capture from a guy who studied under Lee for his moves and a bunch of other experts for the bad guys, so the moves and graphics are pretty sweet -- but the combos aren't the easiest to learn. But hey, it turns out you don't really need them to beat the game anyway(which should only take a day or so even for the most novice of gamers). A huge disapointment.

At last Bruce Lee comes into the world of higher level of videogames. My opinion is that this game is one of the best. it is somewhat similar to the game of Fighting Force but more like Final Fight.the game beats tekken 1 and 2 virtua fighter 1 2 and 3 and others. The way of fighting in the game in my opinion is outstanding. this game has a lot of ways ofmartial arts. I think that it is the right thing to put Bruce Lee on videogames,to remember one of the gratest fighters of all in history of martial arts.

i recommend this game to all fans of fighting games, and those who are martial arts fighters, so they can learn moves from Lee.

I really enjoyed the game. Grant it, it could have been better, but it still was fun. I played the gave for 5 days straight. Once you get used to the controls then it is easy.

Old School Fun, Not for Xbox!!, September 11, 2002

This game would have been great for the Atari game system, but for what Xbox can do it sux. The graphics are cheasy. There is a water like ripple going down the screen and it's on all the copies. Also the fighting controls in the crouching position are difficult to use. Save your money or buy something else.

Bad Everything, August 29, 2002

This game has bad everything. Bad setup (aka you can beat bosses with your eyes closed.) Bad graphics. Bad Consistancy (With gameplay and graphics.) All of that together = a game that is not worth buying. I am very disapointing, thinking this would actually be good and it amuses me to think I once thought it would be good.

I'll make this short and sweet. The game [lacks], ITs nothing like i expected, the camera view and character movmeent are HORRIBLE, and the fighting is horribly repetetive [like my use of the term "horrible"]. I turned it off after the third level. This game is a perfect example of a game i should have rented before i bought. Unfortunatly i did not take that advice on this game.

Don't buy it, or rent it., August 28, 2002

Grafix, on the x-box, mediocre.
Story, bland and pointless.
Controlls, slow and difficult.
Action and play, abysmal terrible boring.
Challenge level, not possible without cheating.

Results: Shame on whoever disgraced Bruce Lee
with this stinker of the year!

Worth Renting IF You are a Bruce fan....don't buy, August 26, 2002

See I'm gonna be honest, the controls were not too bad. But the main thing about it is the gameplay/story line. There is not much of a sensible story to the game and you have to BUY MOVES which is really stupid/unreasonable. Also you just keep fighting about 4 chinese guys every 20 feet and then have ONE guy thats suppose to be the boss that looks just like the rest (of the other people) they got different clothes/looks and all that but they all look just like everyday human beeings you see on the street, so it's kinda repetitive. If you LOVE BRUCE LEE this game is worth renting but don't buy plus the levels are not all that interactive!
