Customer Reviews:
Game was not what I expected, November 9, 2002
Reviewer: kristi3 from Texas, USA
This game can be played by one or two players, and it can be played with something called a "light gun." Well, I played this game on my own and I do not own a "light gun," I think it's called. Perhaps if two people play this and/or play it with a gun, it would be a fun game. However, the constant shooting left my hand and arm sore, which wasn't fun.

The game was entirely too short. I was expecting it to be a bit more drawn out with more levels and more to do within levels other than shoot, shoot, shoot. I was expecting it to be more like the game "Hunter the Reckoning," I suppose, and so I feel let down.

I thought the look of most of the monsters/zombies was very good, but I think the creators of this dropped the ball on the look and design of the final "boss."

On the plus side, the graphics in the House of the Dead 3 are very well done. I also like the fact that the zombies each have their own unique way of attacking.

Good old-fashion fun!, November 2, 2002

How can you go wrong with zombie blasting? The game provides plenty of arcade-type action, awesome graphics, and just about nada as far as the plot goes. But as long as you don't expect a storyline on par with Halo, you should have a good time. The game plays fine without a light gun, although the game loses a bit when you use the controller to aim. This is a great game to have around when you only want to play for a few minutes, or you want to relieve some stress. Again, I thought the graphics were superbly done.

Was a little dissapointed, October 30, 2002

House Of The Dead III was O.K. It is shorter than 2(only 4 bosses, Security Guard,Monkey, Plant and Curien. 2 having 6(Flying Guy, Sea Guy, Snakes, Chansaw, Magician, The Emporor) When you beat the game, you can earn the whole House Of The Dead 2. In the end, I would give it 3.99. Dosen't deserve a 4.0

Warning about the Mad Catz Blaster Gun, October 30, 2002
Reviewer: A gamer from Crown Point, IN USA
The gun does not support HD/Projection TVs. I don't why someone would produce a light gun that will not work with projection TVs. One of the great things about the new video games/consoles is playing them on hugh TVs and wallowing in glory of those wonderous graphics. Shame on Mad Catz for releasing an inferior product!

I recommend looking into purchasing Magic Box, which is an adaptor that allows you to use Playstion2 controllers with the XBox. The Playstion 2 lightguns do work with HD/Projection TVs.

Zombie Blasting Fun!!, October 25, 2002

I bought this game the day it came out, and man, it is awesome! First off, this is a light-gun game, meaning that you can use a light-gun peripheral to play it. This game is pure fun from the get go. I highly recommend you get the light-gun along with this game which is the Mad Catz Blaster and is the only light gun currently available for X-Box. The game has the best graphics I have ever seen in a light-gun game. I own Time Crisis 2, Vampire Night, and Endgame on PS2 and have seen/played Dino Stalker and Ninja Assault so I've been there. The graphics are phenomenal. This time around the characters are equipped with a shotgun, so when you shoot you get a wider blast. If you use the light-gun you can reload by shooting off-screen or pressing the button on the grip of the gun, or it will reload for you once you run out of ammo. The gameplay is fast, intense, and the story follows the previous two installments. Another great thing about this game is that it is really two games in one. Once you beat the game you can unlock and enable the complete and full Dreamcast version of "The House of the Dead 2" it is the exact same thing as the Dreamcast version and contains all the same modes (a direct port of the Dremacast version, so no X-Box enhanced graphics), but hey, you get a bonus game in this package, two full shooting games in one, you can't beat that. Some people complain that the game is too short, well the inclusion of House of the Dead 2 more than makes up for this. I think the lenght of the game could have been a bit longer, but it is a light-gun game and you have to keep in mind that people get tired of holding the gun and what not so a 1 or 2 hour light-gun game would not be the best idea. This game is pure fun from the get go. It is a must have for light-gun game aficionados and fans of zombie movies, you get the best of both worlds. Oh yeah, the game also includes a 15 minute feature of the upcoming House of hte Dead motion picture which hits theaters in 2003, this is another great bonus that comes with the game. House of the Dead 3 includes two modes, Survival (the main mode), and Time Attack. House of the Dead 2 has Arcade, Original, Boss Mode, and Training Mode. You can adjust the difficulty for both games and increase or decrease the number of lives and continues to suit your taste. This game is excellent, I have not played it with the controller so I can't help you there, but it works great with the gun. If you love zombie flicks, video games, shooting games, and having a blast then you owe it to yourself to get this game. I highly recommend the gun (Mad Catz Blaster) it works great with the game, accurate, comfortable, and gets the job done. I got to go now, going to blast some more zombies!!!
